So, for the past few months, i’ve been hidden away from civilisation, doing my first year film. It’s kind of an epic and still isn’t finished, but I made time to make a timelapse of some of it. Here it is!
Oh yes, and here are a few ‘making of’ (read: quick mobile phone snaps) of my set up for the ‘Brothers’ animation.
Here is a wee bit of lipsync animation i’ve done in my first term of the RCA. First time using cut-outs on a multi-plane. Muchos fun.
BOOM! It’s the week for promoting my projects online, it seems. Here is a pixelation video I done designed, directed and animated with a bunch of very talented people. It took us flippin’ ages. It’s for the musical space adventurers, Let’s Talk About Space who have created songs for children about the wonders of space and science.
I have been pretty bad at updating this blog with my work. But here’s some to show now, so it’s all alright. This is a music video I directed with the help of a very talent bunch of people called That Lovely Lot - the people I made Fixing Luka with. It is for the band The State Broadcasters.
We raised money for the whole thing via crowdfunding. And well…here it is!
Stop-motion is probably the worst, most painful way to make a film. It’s a completely awful process to engage in, an anachronism. But the stories have a warmth and a charm. You’re not looking at ones and zeros. You’re looking at the hands of the artists who made it.
