You can’t just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood.
What mood is that?
In procrastination of looking for actual work, I made some teeeeeny weeny GIFs of my first year RCA film, The Cycle.
It seems like a pretty GIFable film and i’m not sure why I didn’t do it earlier. Oh yes, I know why..because I had no freakin’ idea how to make GIFs.
Maybe I should have saved this for Halloween, but last year I did this little animation project for the Sheffield arts festival Sensoria for a spooky strand of spoken word pieces called Now Will You Listen. Musicians, poets and celebs read out these dark stories and gave them to some animators to create images for a live performance with musical accompaniment.
And here’s mine finally online!
You how you should spend the next 2 minutes of your life? Watching lots of little clips of stuff, edited to a Flying Lotus tracks, that’s what!
In other words, i’ve cut a new showreel and i’m pimping it out to all and sundry. Enjoy!
I’m in the midst of finally sorting out my website, including the animation workshop work i’ve done in the past. I stumbled on this ‘Making Of’ created from a workshop I ran last Semptember, in conjuction with Moleskine and Milano Film Festival. Watch as I pretend to know what i’m talking about.
More information about the project can be found here.
